Event Report: IPR International Conference 2025: Navigating through Uncharted Horizons of Protein Science Conference

The Institute for Protein Research (IPR) hosted the IPR International Conference 2025: Navigating Uncharted Horizons of Protein Science at the Awaji Yumebutai International Conference Center from January 15 to 17, 2025. The event marked over 60 years since IPR’s founding in 1958, the same year myoglobin became the first protein to be structurally analyzed.

The conference brought together leading experts and emerging researchers to discuss the future of protein science, from AI-driven breakthroughs like AlphaFold to the recent Nobel Prize in Chemistry. Diverse sessions covered the latest advances in protein research, including new technologies and their implications for medicine and biotechnology.

Participants engaged in insightful discussions on the challenges and opportunities ahead, while networking and poster sessions sparked new collaborations.
